About the Westminster Assembly
Composed of 121 Puritan Ministers, 30 lay members of the English Parliament, and 8 Scottish advisors, the Westminster Assembly first met in 1643. Parliment invisioned a national church with a single liturgy. While revising the Thirty-Nine Articles, Civil War broke out.
The work of the Westminster Assembly was completed in November of 1648 involving four basic documents.
